Staff - Assign Thermostat to Quext Database

Before you begin:

These steps will walk you through connecting a Quext smart thermostat to the IoT database.

Please be sure that you've physically installed a new Quext IoT smart thermostat onto the wall. If you haven't, click the Install a Thermostat button below to see how to do so.

  1. Select the service tile from the home screen of your Quext IoT Admin app.

  2. Select the building that you need and then the Apartment Unit.

    1. Tip: Because you are installing a thermostat, there should not be a thermostat icon associated with the selected unit.

  3. Click install device and select Thermostat from the menu.

  4. Allow access to your camera. You will be prompted to allow Quext IoT Admin to access your phone's camera to scan the barcode. Choose OK if you would like to scan the barcode Using Phone Camera.

  5. Tap the Install button and plug the thermostat back into the wall. Then select Next.

    1. Tip: Don't press down hard - The thermostat should easily snap into place.

  6. Connect and finish. The device will take up to a few minutes to connect. Once it has successfully connected, click Finish to complete your installation.

If you do not want the app to have access, you may choose Don't Allow and Select from Available Thermostats or Enter ID Manually.

  • Using Phone Camera: Use your camera to place the thermostat's barcode inside of the blue box to scan the thermostat into the unit's devices.

  • Select from Available Thermostats: Tap the Install button and plug the thermostat back into the wall. Then select Next.

  • Enter ID Manually: You will find the thermostat ID on the back of the thermostat to enter into the ID field
