Staff - Manage Light Switches & Residents' Use

Manage your light switch devices

  1. Click the Devices tab.

  2. Move to the lights page and choose the light switch that you'd like to see more details about.

  3. View the device details. Click the pencil icon to change the device name.

    1. Tip: You can also click the three-dot menu to configure the switch, view its connection log, or delete the device from your community.

  4. Choose the correct resident and click the link under authorizations.

  5. Click the filter icon and check yes under show all devices. Then choose confirm.

  6. Click expand all to see details for all devices this resident has authorizations for. Or, click the specific line of the location where the light switch is installed.

  7. Toggle off the switch for the light switch device to disable the resident from managing their lights remotely. The execution devices should read aeotec light switch.

    1. Tip: You can do the same for any other access/device type you’d like to manage for this resident.

Manage a resident's ability to use their smart light by choosing the residents tile then follow the directions above.
