This guide will walk you through how to program a Quext smart thermostat to be used with heat pumps. This includes standard HVAC systems as well heat pumps with modes B and O.
Power down the thermostat and then install batteries into the thermostat.
If the thermostat is connected to 24V power, you cannot program it for heat pump use. It must be running on batteries.
Watch the front (main) screen. When it powers up, press down and hold the thermostat’s knob until the screen displays a factory menu.
Release the knob.
When entering the factory menu to choose the operating mode, an action must be taken within two (2) seconds or the device will exit the factory menu.
Choose the desired operating mode.
The default settings displayed will read 10, signifying the use of a standard HVAC system. Turn the knob to choose the desired operating mode. The types of modes are:
10 - Standard HVAC system
11 - Heat pump with reversing valve default to Cool (B)
12 - Heat pump with reversing valve deafault to Heat (O)
To make your selection, press and release the knob. The thermostat will then reboot. Afterward, it will be operating in the chosen mode.
