Staff - Execute Resident Move-In / Move-Out

These steps are for communities that do not have their Property Management System integrated with Quext.

Written by Support

Executing a Move-In

  1. From the resident queue page, navigate to the desired resident.

    1. Tip: Remove the preset date range in the Viewing section (at the top-left of the screen) by clicking the "x" icon.

  2. Click the move-in button.

  3. Issue keys for the resident by doing the following, based on the type of key(s) needed:

    • Fob - search for and select the fob’s badge ID, limited to 3 key fobs.

    • Bluetooth key - toggle on ble keys.

      • This is the resident's mobile key on their Quext phone app.

    • PIN code - toggle on pin code.

      • Only for locks that use a lock with PIN codes.

    • Remote key - toggle on remote keys.

      • This key allows for the resident to provide their guests remote access to their assigned locations.

    • Gate tag - search for and select the correct gate tag number.

      • Only for communities that use gate tags.

  4. Click execute move-in to finalize the move-in, issuing the keys and giving the resident access to their Quext IoT Resident app.

If you don't see the type of key that you're looking for, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager.

Executing a Move-Out

  1. From the resident queue page, navigate to the desired resident.

  2. Click the move-out button.

  3. Select the key fob status for each of the resident's fobs (if they used fobs) - either Returned or Not returned.

    1. NOTE: Keys marked Not returned will no longer be active in the IoT system.

  4. Click execute move-out to finalize the move-out for the resident, deactivating their keys and access to their Quext IoT Resident app.

If you are executing the only (or last) person from the lease, you can check archive to move the lease status to archived.
