Staff - Create a Smart Schedule (Thermostat Automations)

Written by Support

Creating a Smart Schedule Event

  1. Choose either Energy saving mode or Recommended move-in settings from the Automation page, depending on your needs; this process can be done in both!

  2. Toggle the automation setting on, if not already done.

  3. Click the three-dot menu and choose automation rules.

  4. Choose Smart control within the control settings.

  5. Click the three-dot menu and choose manage schedule.

  6. Select add event to create a smart schedule for your thermostat. Customize settings like:

    • the time of day the event will start

    • the days of the week the event will run

    • the thermostat and fan modes

    • the heat and cool set points

  7. Click save.

You will not choose an end date or time at this

point; continue to the next section for explanation.

Ending an Event (or Creating Multiple Events)

You can end a smart schedule event in one of two ways:

  1. Create an additional event that begins at the date and time which you’d like the previous event to end

    • For example, to create weekday ‘Daytime’ and ‘Evening Time’ schedules, you’d create your ‘Daytime’ event to begin M-F at 8:00am, and a second ‘Evening Time’ event to begin M-F at 5:00pm.

  2. Manually turn the dial on the thermostat to adjust your temperature setting, select the number of hours (up to 24) for this setting, then press the dial.

    • These manual changes will only temporarily override the settings before the next scheduled event begins.
