Assigning Temporary Access

  1. From the Access page, click the three-dot menu and choose grant access.

  2. Fill in the information around the access the user will need. Be sure to:

    1. Choose either virtual or mobile access type (see below for explanations).

    2. Set the date range the access should remain active.

  3. Choose a schedule the access will follow. This will be 24/7 access, by default, unless a custom schedule has been created.

    1. Virtual keys are suggested for staff members and do not have a location limit. Vendors do not have access to virtual keys.

    2. Mobile keys (BLE and fob) are limited to 15 access locations per transaction.

  4. Choose the locations & units that the access will be for. Use the search bars to locate specific units/users.

  5. Select save.

Selecting a building or floor will not automatically select all units associated with it. Click select all to the right of a location to choose all doors listed under that item.

Types of Keys

BLE key - This is a Bluetooth key that lives on the IoT Admin App. It communicates with smart locks in the traditional way--through the patented Quext IoT thermostat hub.

Virtual key- This is a “Bluetooth” key that allows access to a unit by communicating from the IoT Admin app directly to the door lock. A virtual key is similar to the BLE key, but it bypasses the communication with the thermostat hub. It is the recommended choice for community staff. It is not currently available for vendors.
