Apple Wallet Express Mode
What is Express Mode?
Express Mode allows you to unlock supported Quext smart locks using your Apple Wallet key without unlocking your iPhone or authenticating with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode. Simply hold your iPhone or Apple Watch near the lock to unlock it.
For the best experience, we recommend verifying that Express Mode is enabled after adding your key to Apple Wallet. Compatible keys may have Express Mode enabled automatically, but it's worth checking if tap-to-unlock isn't working as expected.
How to Enable Express Mode
Open the Wallet app
Select your Quext Wallet Pass
Tap the More (•••) button or Info (ⓘ)
Tap Express Mode
Turn Express Mode On
Once enabled, you can unlock supported Quext locks by holding your iPhone or Apple Watch near the lock—no need to wake or unlock your device.
Still Having Trouble?
If Express Mode is enabled but your key isn't working:
Make sure NFC is available (supported iPhone models have NFC enabled automatically).
iPhone: iPhone 8 or newer, running a current version of iOS with Apple Wallet
Apple Watch: Apple Watch Series 4 or newer (paired with a compatible iPhone)
Verify that your Quext Wallet Pass is still present in Apple Wallet.
Hold the top edge of your iPhone close to the lock reader for 1–2 seconds.
If prompted for Face ID or your passcode, confirm that Express Mode is turned on.
Remove and re-add your Home Key to Apple Wallet if the issue persists.
If you're still unable to unlock your door, contact Quext Support for additional assistance.
Tip: If your phone or watch can make contactless payments, it will work for tap-to-unlock.
